Our team is led by Eduardo (Ed) Baer who serves as Chief Executive Officer and Executive Member of the Board of Directors.
Mr. Baer brings to the Company extensive experience in strategic planning and business development, spanning over 30 years in the natural resources sector. In his capacity as Interim Chairman and CEO of European Goldfields Ltd., he effected the transformation of the company through strategic initiatives that leveraged his project management, financing and capital markets experience. Mr. Baer also served in a senior corporate development capacity to Greystar Resources Ltd., and held senior executive positions and a directorship with TVX Gold Inc. Having served in senior executive and corporate development positions for junior and mid-tier precious metals companies, he has a demonstrated record in the transformation and successful building and turnaround of соmраnіеѕ.
Mr. Baer holds a Master of Laws (LLM) from Osgoode Hall Law School and a Master of Science (Leadership) with Distinction from Northeastern University. He is a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors and obtained the ICD.D designation in 2009.
Luis Montoya
Chief Geologist
For more than 50 years, Luis Montoya has served as a progressive senior exploration geologist for significant projects in several Latin American countries. Mr. Montoya is a recognized leading-specialist in porphyry copper systems and knowledgeable of high and low sulphidation environments (Au-Ag) primarily in Latin America. He has led the exploration and development of mining projects at various stages in Chile, Peru, Argentina, Ecuador, Colombia, Bolivia and Mexico. He has defined Manto-type prospects (Pb – Zn – Ag) along the Andean Geosyncline in Central America as well as supported placer gold projects in Nicaragua and Costa Rica.
Mr. Montoya has extensive exploration experience and has served in senior exploration and senior management roles with well-known mining companies including ASARCO Inc., Lowell Mineral Exploration Group, TVX Gold, Minsur (Brescia Group), Achatayhua Minerals Corp., Rial Minera s.a.c., Cia. Minera Santa Rosa and others.
Mr. Montoya is credited with many significant discoveries including the Cerro Chorcha porphyry copper project in western Panama; the La Danta porphyry copper in northwestern Nicaragua; the Coco Mine (Bx pipe with Au – Pb – Zn) on the northern border with Honduras; the Los Calatos porphyry copper (Cu – Mo) in Moquegua, southern Peru; the Pucamarca gold mine in Tacna, adjacent to the Peruvian-Chilean border; as well as many other key discoveries throughout Latin America.
